Port Ludlow Art League to host reception

PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Art League will host an artists’ reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Sound Community Bank lobby and The Gallery.

Admission is free at both the bank lobby and gallery, which are at Osprey Ridge Drive and Oak Bay Road. The bank reception will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the gallery reception will run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On exhibit will be the work of the league’s artist of the month, painter Susan Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh selects her medium to best suit the subject matter, organizers said, adding that she works in watercolor and oil paint, sometimes using fibers to create texture.

Also on exhibit will be the work of the league’s jeweler of the month, Pamela Raine.

Best known for her watercolors, mixed media and ceramics, a fascination with color led Raine to adding jewelry making to her repertoire, organizers said.

“There is an infinite variety of materials to create jewelry and the search for the perfect combination is half the fun,” Raine said.

Through the month of June, a Flora and Fauna Art Show will be on exhibit at the Port Ludlow Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place.

Exhibiting artists include Alan Ahtow, Bruce Corbridge, Kelly Hall, Rita Hollingsworth, Georganne Muse, Nancy Palsulich, Pamela Raine and Patricia Webber.
