PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Art League will host a reception for Shirley Bomgaars from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The reception will begin at 4 p.m. in the lobby at Sound Community Bank, 9500 Oak Bay Road, then move to the league’s adjacent gallery at 5 p.m.
Bomgaars has been creating artwork for much of her life. She uses acrylics and watercolors often with the addition of colored pencils. She also dabbles in pastels and inks.
Bomgaars teaches acrylic painting classes to share her technique and the joy of painting.
The league also will exhibit the works of its jewelry artists during December.
Much of the exhibit is available for purchase by contacting the artist and arranging to meet at the bank or the league’s adjacent art gallery.
Participating artists include Kandice Crusat, Lora De La Portilla, Aran Galligan, Sheryl Goldsberry, Janice Gruber, Jolie Maki, Mara Mauch, Georganne Muse and Pamela Raine.
Bomgaars’ mixed-media creations and the works of the league’s jewelry artists will be on display at the league’s gallery from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays throughout December.
