Port Ludlow Art League showcases works online

PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Art League is exhibiting its artists’ work online.

In April, the Black & White group art show can be seen at www.portludlowart.org/black-white-art-show/ and Moroccan images are on view at www.portludlowart.org/moroccan-art-show/.

The gallery is closed, and all group activities have been suspended temporarily because of the coronavirus pandemic.

So in addition to online shows, the league also has an inspiration web page at portludlowart.org.

Black and white

“Black and white art often consists of only highlights, shadows, and shades of gray,” the art league says on its website.

“By not using color, compositions can be seen more readily because structure and spatial relationships take precedence … As a result, black and white is more likely than color to create an abstract visual.”

For prices and sizes, email info@portludlowart.org.

Moroccan beauty

The Moroccan Odyssey highlights the work of the April Artists of the Month, David Layton and Pamela Raine.

Having both been to Morocco recently, the two combined their effort in this show.

Layton is a photographer and digital collage artist.

Digital collage is a form of graphic art that uses virtual imagery and textures from different sources, pieced and layered together into one assembled image.

Raine uses different mediums to render her impressions of the places to which she travels.

She chooses the medium based on the subject matter.

May 1, the exhibits will change.

Artist of the Month will be Mary Lynn Laker.

Jeweler of the Month will be Reginald Kleweno.

The Floral Fantasy Group Art Show also will be online at portludlowart.org.
