Port Angeles Symphony seeks singers

The new group will perform in tandem with the orchestra.

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Symphony is seeking singers to join a new choral group to perform in tandem with the orchestra during performances.

“I am happy to announce that the Port Angeles Symphony is forming a new chorus to perform with the orchestra once or twice per season,” said Jonathan Pasternack, Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra music director and conductor, in a news release.

“Experienced singers are invited to try out for the ensemble, which will be rehearsed by Joy Lingerfelt in collaboration with Kristin Quigley-Brye.”

Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Audition appointments can be made by phoning the symphony office at 360-457-5579 or emailing PASymphony@olypen.com.

Drop-ins are welcome as the schedule allows.

The chorus will debut at the Port Angeles Symphony’s annual Holiday Concert on Dec. 10.

Projects for future seasons include oratorio and opera masterpieces, as well as an annual contribution to the holiday concert each December.

The scheduled rehearsals for this winter will be on the evenings of Nov. 22 and 29, and Dec. 1, 6 and 8.

The dress rehearsal will be in the morning of the performance day, Dec. 10.

Rehearsals will take place at Holy Trinity and Port Angeles High School on Dec. 8 and 10.
