Port Angeles High students to stage ‘Murder Mystery’ whodunit

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School will present “A Murder Mystery,” an interactive experience written and directed by student members of the Thespian Society, at 6 tonight.

Other performances are slated for 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 Park Ave.

General admission is $5 per person at the door.

Free popcorn will be available.

“A Murder Mystery” is on the set of a sitcom television show and the audience is pulled into the world of show business, according to a press release.

The story revolves around six actors who detest one another when the cameras aren’t rolling, an overly-excited fan, the pushy director who seems to be in it only for the money and crew personnel who follow orders and run around all day.

For most of these actors it’s just a normal day on-set until the cast and crew find one of their own murdered without a single clue as to who could have done it.

From there on out, it’s up to the audience to ask questions, interrogate the suspects and help figure out who the killer is.

“A Murder Mystery” is completely student-produced, with the help of Kelly Lovall, club adviser.

This is the second year “A Murder Mystery” has returned due to popular demand, and the Thespian Society has added plenty of new twists and plot surprises, said the release.

Cast and crew include 12th-graders Rylan MacDonald, Joelynne Jewell, Stephen Kauffman, Anli Guttormsen and Isabelle Cottam; 11th-graders Sammy Weinert, Rhianna Stockdale and Ruby Harris; 10th-graders Talia Anderson, Breanna Schafer, Maddie Montana and Sophia Orth; and ninth-graders Katie Marchant, Olivia Wray and Isabelle Vollmer.
