PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles art gallery will host a free lecture at 6 p.m. Wednesday as part of a series designed to allow artists to tell their stories.
Imagine It Framed at 625 E. Front St. will host artist Beverly Beighle, who will speak on “My Journey to Watercolor.”
Beighle also will offer an art item for a raffle to benefit the Dungeness River Audubon Center.
The Artist Story Series focuses on education and community by offering a venue for artists to share their stories, techniques and motivation with hands-on events and presentations.
Artists also offer a raffle item with the proceeds going to an organization or charity of their choice.
Beighle’s art will be on display through July 6.
The artist was raised in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri and studied music in college, later receiving a master’s degree in social work. She worked until retirement in mental institutions, medical hospitals and in private practice.
In the 1970s and ’80s, Beighle painted in oils and acrylics, according to a news release. She found that painting gave her a feeling of accomplishment.
After moving to Washington in 2002, her interests turned to watercolor and fiber art.
“It’s exciting to see something come alive as I create. There seems to be no limit to the challenges of both painting and fiber art,” she said.
“I’m often wondering how to both paint on fabric, and paint fabric on paper.
“I am inspired by the beauty around me. That which God creates can never be truly repeated, but I enjoy trying to capture what I see.”
