Poets featured at Northwind Arts Center

PORT TOWNSEND — The Northwind Arts Center’s continuous reading series will feature two poets, Kimberly Burwick and Kevin Goodan, on Thursday.

The readings begin at 7 p.m. at the center, 701 Water St. There is no charge to attend, but a donation of $5 is suggested.

Burwick currently teaches creative writing at Washington State University.

Goodan was raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation in western Montana. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana and worked as a firefighter for 10 years with the U.S. Forest Service before receiving his master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Goodan’s works

Goodan’s first collection of poetry, “In the Ghost-House Acquainted,” won the Laurence L. & Thomas Winship/PEN New England Award in 2005. His other books include “Winter Tenor,” “Upper Level Disturbances,” “Let the Voices” and “Anaphora.”
