PORT ANGELES — Christopher Houlihan will perform a pipe organ recital at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The concert, part of the Margaret Graebner series for pipe organ, will be at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave.

Admission is free, although donations to fund facilities at the church will be accepted.

The program includes “The Dancing Pipes” by Jonathan Dove, Trois Pieces, Op. 29 (I. Prelude, II. Cantiliene and III. Scherzando) by Gabriel Pierne, Concert variations on “Star Spangled Banner” Op. 23 by Dudley Buck, Suite No. 1 for Organ (I. Fantasy, II. Fughettta, III. Air and IV. Toccato) by Florence Price and Fantasia and Fugue in G minor, BWV 542, by J.S. Bach.

Houlihan, about whom the Los Angeles Times said, “Houlihan is the next big organ talent,” has performed with the principal brass of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Houlihan has been the artist-in-residence at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., as well as organist and director of music at the Church of the Holy Apostles in Manhattan.

In addition to his studies at Trinity College, Houlihan studied at The Juilliard School, where he earned a master’s degree, and at the French National Regional Conservatory in Versailles.
