Four plant sales are set for Saturday on the North Olympic Peninsula.
Master Gardeners in Clallam and Jefferson counties are hosting sales, while the Port Angeles Garden Club’s fundraising plant sale also is Saturday and the two-day Swan School’s 10th annual “Plant-a-Palooza” begins Saturday.
Chimacum
The Jefferson County Master Gardener Foundation’s plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road. It’s the first time the sale will be in person since 2019. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation pivoted to an online sale format in 2020 and 2021.
This year, gardeners will be able to reconnect in person with fellow plant enthusiasts while shopping the thousands of small trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, ground covers, vegetables, fruits and succulents.

All plants have been propagated by experienced Master Gardeners on a volunteer basis. Plants may vary in size from the photos shown on the site.
Sequim
The Clallam County Master Gardeners’ Spring Plant Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, with a half-priced sale later that afternoon form 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim.
“It’s time to shake off the online doldrums because in-person shopping is back and better than ever at the Clallam County Master Gardeners’ plant sale,” said Laurel Moulton, Master Gardener coordinator, in a press release.
The sale will offer a variety of perennials, shrubs and starts that have been grown by Clallam County Master Gardener volunteers or locally sourced from trusted professional growers, Moulton said.
Starts include tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, rhubarb, zucchini and broccoli. Herbs available include rosemary, sweet cicely, chives, parsley and thyme.
A large selection of landscaping plants — perennials, succulents, ground covers and ornamental grasses — will be offered.
Native trees and shrubs, which also support birds and pollinators, include Indian plum, red flowering currant, red and blue elderberry varieties, vine maple, ocean spray, twinberry, thimbleberry, service berry, red osier dogwood, Pacific ninebark, Douglas fir, grand fir and sword fern.
House plants like Christmas cactus, jade plants, spider plants and staghorn ferns will be available.
Master Gardeners will be on site to answer questions. The General Store will be open with gifts for sale and gently used gardening supplies and tools.
Proceeds from the sale will go to maintaining the 2.4-acre Woodcock Demonstration Garden and the Fifth Street Community Garden demonstration in Port Angeles as well as supporting Master Gardener community services such as the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) in schools, bi-monthly Green Thumb lectures and the Digging Deeper educational series.
Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Parking is available in the main entrance lot, as well as the lot west of the main entrance, adjacent to Buttercup Lane.

Port Angeles
The Port Angeles Garden Club’s fundraising plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
The sale will feature perennials, annuals, succulents and vegetable starts.
Swan School
PORT TOWNSEND — Swan School’s 10th annual Plant-a-Palooza will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the school, 2345 Kuhn St., Port Townsend.
The popular sale features a variety of annual flowers, succulents and perennials, as well as large hanging baskets full of seasonal bloomers.
New this year, Swan School will host such local growers as Gariss Gardens, Fawn Meadow Farm and Mats Mats Gardens.
These flower farmers will be loaded up with annual flower starts, perennials, wildflowers and native plants.
Diamond Day Bouquets has donated a huge assortment of dahlia tubers, which will also be available for $5 each.
The sale is a benefit for the school’s experiential learning program.
That same weekend will be a family yard sale fundraiser on the front side of campus.
Swan School has provided for 40 years a hands-on, project-based learning program in multi-age classrooms. It is a private, nonprofit school that offers financial aid and scholarship programs.
