Peninsula College offers Vocal Masters Series

PORT ANGELES — What began as a creative pandemic pivot has turned into the opportunity for Peninsula College students to have access to top vocal instruction talent through the Vocal Masters Series.

“We took a chance and tried something unique during the pandemic that has turned out to be a real bonus for students who are serious about improving their vocal skills,” said Elaine Gardner-Morales, vocal jazz instructor.

The college’s Vocal Masters Series has offered online vocal instruction with renowned vocal clinicians and performers since the start of the pandemic.

This fall quarter the series will again offer access to a slate of instructors. The last day to register for the fall series is Tuesday at pencol.edu/GetStarted.

Instructors are Angela Kelman, Joani Taylor, Liz Johnson and Elaine Gardner-Morales.

The Peninsula College Foundation, with sponsorship from The Olympus Group at D.A. Davidson and Sound Community Bank, is supporting this offering for Peninsula College students.

Getta Workman, interim executive director for the Peninsula College Foundation, noted the college’s overall resourcefulness in meeting the needs of students throughout the pandemic, and for the effort made to create this unique class.

“We have been proud supporters of the vocal ensemble through their Jingle Jazz concert, and with this series,” she said.
