Orchard Vibrations a two-day festival

CHIMACUM — Finnriver Farm &Cidery will host a free two-day reggae festival, “Orchard Vibrations,” this weekend.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Tacoma reggae singer Laborer will perform Rastafarian lyrics, R&B music and chanting.

Then, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., a Seattle-based group, the Highlife Band, will play rhythms from the French Caribbean and West Africa coupled with Jamaican rockers, bif-baf, steppers, one-drop and dance hall reggae traditions.

Sunday will welcome the sounds of the Caribbean: reggae, calypso, soca, samba and pop tunes in island style. The Caribe Steel Band will perform at the orchard from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Food available for purchase at the concerts will include locally sourced picnic items, bratwurst and salads Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., dented buoy wood-fired pizza Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m., La crepe de Quimper sweet and savory crepes Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Hama Hama oysters with seasonal seafood Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Finnriver will offer farm-crafted cider tastings, flights and draft pours in the tasting room and cider silo.

To support the musicians, Finnriver raises the cost of draft pours by $1 during the concerts.

No smoking, outside food and alcohol or pets are allowed.
