PORT ANGELES — The Onyx Chamber Players — a trio consisting of cellist Meg Brennand, pianist David White and violinist James Garlick — will explore 300 years of classical music during a performance Saturday evening at Peninsula College.

The show begins at 7 p.m. in the Maier Performance Hall, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

The show is the first in the 2016-17 Maier Hall Concert Series.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. They are available online at http://tinyurl.com/PDN-OnyxChamberTickets.

Season tickets also are available for $40.

“I hope you will consider joining us for the first concert of our fifth season,” said David Jones, head of the Peninsula College music department.

The Onyx Chamber Players’ repertoire will span three centuries for this concert.

In addition to classics of the piano trio literature by Joseph Haydn and Johannes Brahms, they will also play two arrangements by their pianist, David White, of short works by Philip Glass.

The Onyx Chamber Players combine a unique blend of early music performance style with the brilliance and virtuosity of modern instruments, according to a news release, and are known for their insightful programming.

The Onyx Chamber Players have been frequent guests on the radio, appearing live on KUOW-FM and KING-FM in Seattle.
