Olympic Theatre Arts to present O’Tannenbaum Affair

Peninsula Daily News

SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts has announced the third annual O’Tannenbaum Affair, its major fundraiser of the year.

The two-day extravaganza at the OTA Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave., will feature 10 professionally decorated holiday trees in a variety of theatrical themes.

The event kicks off with a free-admission open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

A buffet supper of meat and vegetarian lasagnas, salad and dessert will cost $20 per person, with service from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance or during the open house as available.

The main “affair” will commence at 5 p.m. Saturday with a champagne reception, live entertainment and a formal dinner catered by The Cedars at Dungeness. A live auction and additional entertainment will follow.

Reservations for the Saturday evening “affair” are available at $75 per person with limited seating. Interested guests should visit the OTA website at olympictheatrearts.org/OTA to complete an online RSVP form.

“We’ve added a lot more theater to this year’s event,” said Heidi Hansen, co-chair for the event.

Some trees feature handmade ornaments.

One tree — decorated by a costume designer — will sport an evergreen “tutu” classic ballet bodice, Caldwell said.

Another tree will be outfitted in bubble lights, vintage ornaments and popcorn garland with a Lionel electric train circling its base, Caldwell said.

“I am so proud of all of our designers,” said Elaine Caldwell, chair of the design committee. “This year, they have really outdone themselves.”
