Olympic Peninsula Authors seeks writers for interpretive show

Writers to match with high school students’ artwork

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Peninsula Authors will kick off the New Year by matching experienced writers with captivating photography by local high school students, organizers announced.

Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is selecting photos submitted by students to hang in the gallery at Webster Woods in the first quarter of 2022.

Students are working with the concept of “a world on pause,” reflecting their lives during the pandemic.

OPA invites writers from Clallam and Jefferson counties to match short poems/prose to the photographs.

Selected authors will read their work aloud in the gallery on a date to be determined in February.

Writers are urged to sign up now to join this free community event.

They will view the student photographs, choose the one that “speaks” to them, and develop poetry or short prose to interpret the photo.

Writers interested in taking part are asked to contact Olympic Peninsula Authors at olypenauthors@olypen.com.
