Octopus theme explored at CreativiTea programs

The North Olympic Library System will host three CreativiTea programs in October related to the Clallam County Reads theme of the octopus.

Inky Underwater CreativiTeas will be at 6 tonight at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.; at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.; and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.

Registration is required for the Sequim and Port Angeles programs. To register, visit www.nols.org, or call the library. The Sequim Library is at 360-683-1161. The Port Angeles Library’s phone number is 360-417-8500.

Adults and teens are welcome to have tea and make art.

Attendees will create underwater scenes using watercolors, India inks and markers.

No experience is necessary. All supplies are provided.

This program is supported by the Friends of the Library.

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) oversees the public libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks and Clallam Bay.

The annual Clallam County Reads is a community-wide shared reading experience.

The program offers free, educational and community-building events and programs during October and November related to the official selection, which this year is “The Soul of an Octopus” by Sy Montgomery.

A limited supply of free copies of the book are available at each of the NOLS libraries.

The book is also available for check-out in such other formats as audio and downloadable versions.

For more information, see www.nols.org, call 360-417-8500, or email Discover@nols.org.
