SEQUIM — The NorthWest Women’s Chorale will present its spring concert, “Weather, or not …” at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 N. Blake Ave.
A second concert is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.
Suggested donation is $15.
The chorale is going in a different direction this spring and the audience will be surprised with the repertoire it is showcasing, according to a press release.
The music, composed mostly by American composers, ranges from torch songs about the weather to the standards, as well as a song arranged by director Joy Lingerfelt.
Accompanying the chorale are pianist Kristin Quiqley-Brye, Patti Monson on flute and Olivia Bailey on violin.
The chorale will have the Con Brio Women’s Choir, under the direction of Dori Baunsgard, as its special guests.
Con Brio celebrates, honors and empowers women by performing choral music of excellence and diversity. The choir is an enthusiastic, multi-generational group of women with roots in many countries of the world.
Con Brio performs a broad spectrum of songs, from classical to Broadway to opera to world music. Con Brio is a part of the Columbia Choirs organization based in Redmond.
Each group will perform separately and collaborate on two pieces as a combined choir. Quiqley-Brye will accompany Con Brio, as well as Vicki Helwick on the Djembe.
