NOLS seeking entries for ‘Ocean Arts’ exhibit

The North Olympic Library System is seeking submissions for an “Ocean Arts” exhibit at the Sequim and Port Angeles public library.

Local artists of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to enter work of any medium from paintings and drawings to fiber art and sculpture. The deadline for consideration is Sept. 16.

The “Ocean Arts” exhibit will run from October through January with opening receptions planned at both libraries in October.

The Port Angeles Library has display space available for both 2- and 3-dimensional art with display cases and suspension systems available. The Sequim Library has display space for 2-dimensional art.

To submit your entry, email PA-Art@nols.org with the following information:

• Full name and contact information

• A description of the work(s) you’d like to exhibit including medium

• Dimensions

• Images of the work (total attachment size should be less than 10 MB)

Library staff will evaluate submissions and decide which pieces will be included in the exhibit by Monday, Sept. 23. Further details and further directions will be emailed to artists following.

All 2-dimensional wall art must be properly framed (for the medium) and wired for hanging. Three-dimensional artwork must be displayed in a stable manner. Artwork will be hung and installed by library staff.

This program is supported by the Friends of Sequim Library and Port Angeles Friends of the Library.
