‘Natural intelligence’ focus of Hurricane Ridge benefit

PORT ANGELES — The Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club and Hurricane Ridge Ski Team will host the third talk in the Outdoor Adventure Series at 7 p.m. Saturday at Studio Bob.

The suggested donation at the door will be $10 at 118½ E. Front St.

Ethan Strahan will lecture on natural intelligence.

Strahan is an outdoor enthusiast who has spent several years adventuring in the North Olympic Peninsula outdoors with a primary interest in splitboarding around the Hurricane Ridge vicinity as well as fishing for salmon and steelhead in coastal streams.

“A concern for the well-being of life on Earth and a curiosity to discover the truth regarding many of the problems humanity faces has led him to some paradigm-shattering discoveries and empowering conclusions that have the potential to transform the current human planetary condition,” organizers said.

In his talk, Strahan will explore the emergent science of how time spent outdoors and exposure to the processes and rhythms of nature influence the degree of intelligence and health an individual achieves. Through a discussion involving topics such as biophysics, pattern recognition, circadian biology, and personal experience, Strahan will attempt to help listeners gain a deeper understanding of the human connection to nature and the importance of spending time outdoors as it relates to intelligence, health and other aspects of life.

All proceeds will benefit the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club and the Hurricane Ridge Ski Team.
