Movies memories, class to teach email protection Tuesday

Movies stirring memories and an email security class are among Tuesday’s activities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

PORT ANGELES

Senior dance

PORT ANGELES — Cat’s Meow will perform for a swing dance from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The dance will be in the Port Angeles Senior and Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St.

Refreshments will be served from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person; first-time attendees are admitted free.

PORT TOWNSEND

Birding trip

PORT TOWNSEND — Gary Eduardo Perless will lead a birding trip at Point Hudson from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Participants should meet at the parking lot at the end of Jefferson Street.

The public is welcome on this free field trip sponsored by the Admiralty Audubon Society.

‘Meet me at the movies’

PORT TOWNSEND — The Frye Art Museum will present “Meet Me at the Movies” at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The free film experience will be presented at the Rose Theatre, 235 Taylor St.

“Meet Me at the Movies” shows theme-based clips from classic and contemporary films and ends with an audience discussion.

The program, part of the museum’s creative aging initiative, is designed for people with memory loss and their care partners.

The discussion will explore the theme of travel, with a focus on the Pacific Northwest.

CHIMACUM

Fruit Club meets

CHIMACUM — Chef Arran Stark will present “Cooking with Fruit” at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Stark will speak to a meeting of the North Olympic Fruit Club at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road.

Stark is the executive chef for Jefferson Healthcare.

The meeting is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.

PORT HADLOCK

Tech Tuesday

PORT HADLOCK — Library staff will present “Email Security” from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The class is part of the Tech Tuesday series at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.

Attendees will learn how to identify spam and malicious emails, and explore various ways to can control questionable or unwanted messages.

Tech staff will be available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. after the class for drop-in tech assistance with phones, tablets or other devices.
