Men’s Gospel Singers host concert

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers will present its 16th annual spring concert, “Not Ashamed,” at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The concert will be at the Port Angeles Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave.

Tickets are $20 for reserved seating, $15 for open seating and $10 for students.

Tickets are available at Port Book and News in Port Angeles and Joyful Noise in Sequim, or by going to pmgospelsingers.com, emailing tickets@pmgospel singers.com, or calling 360-457-1001.

“Not Ashamed” is an Isaac Watts hymn arranged by Dan Forrest.

‘Inspirational work’

“This inspirational work expresses conviction, hope and promise,” organizers said.

The program will open with Shane Beeson presenting three of his own compositions, “Mountain of the Lord,” “Closer Still” and “Awesome God.”

The choir will start off singing “I Am Persuaded,” “Jesus Paid It All” and continue with many favorites as well as such new pieces as the energetic and joyful “Silence The Stones” and the soothing “Pacem.”

The program will feature Mike McBride singing an inspirational, solo version of “Love Changes Everything.”

Craig Buhler will add flute and clarinet accompaniment to several numbers and play in a combo of instrumentalists from the choir with “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”

Hundreds of voices will join the choir in a sing along of “Amazing Grace.”

Karen Coles will provide sign language interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members.
