Makers Market, Light Art Experience to open Friday

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center will open its Makers Market and the Light Art Experience on Friday.

The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Fridays.

The market, located in the center’s Esther Webster Gallery, at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., will be open though Dec. 15.

The center also will cut a ribbon on the Light Art Experience at 4 p.m. Friday.

The outdoor exhibit, in the adjacent Webster’s Woods, is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. nightly through Jan. 1 except for Dec. 7, when tickets will be required for the Festival of Lights fundraiser.

The exhibit features 14 light art installations on the theme of Sparks of Connection spread out over the 5-acre wooded lot.

Exhibitors include returning artists Jennifer Kapnek, Andy Rovelstad and Maya Rovelstad, Heather Dawn Sparks, Dustin Fosnot, Loreen Matsushima, Tracy Beals, Kim Wennerberg, Marcell Marias and Ron Smith along with new exhibitors KCJ Szwedzinski, Nora Hughes and Islando Sparks and the Femme Metal Collective.

Visitors can enjoy beverages, live music from Casey Fall and heated seating from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the gallery’s courtyard.
