Logging show, talent show, Demo Derby coming up at Clallam County Fair

PORT ANGELES — A logging show, a rodeo and the ever-popular Demolition Derby are among the Grandstand events at the Clallam County Fair today and Sunday.

Single-day passes for the fair at 1608 W. 16th St., in Port Angeles are $8 for adults 18 to 61, $6 for seniors 62 and older and youth 13 to 17; and $5 for youth 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are admitted free.

The two-day rodeo will begin at 5 p.m. today and continue at noon Sunday.

The Demo Derby will be at 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Sunday at the yellow gate at the west side parking lot next to the BMX Track. Tickets will be $15 in additional to paid fair admission.

Another highlight of the fair will be the “Clallam County’s Got Talent” showcase of locals.

The 10th Annual Variety & Talent Show will be at 2 p.m. Sunday on the Wilder Stage.

Continuing today and Sunday will be 4H activities, live music concerts, a carnival and vendors, a variety of demonstrations and educational activities and hot meals at the fair kitchen.

The gates will open each day at 8:30 a.m., with buildings opening at 9 a.m.; both will close at 9 p.m. today and at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The carnival will begin at noon each day and close at 9 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday.

Clallam Transit is offering free service to the Clallam County Fair on all fixed-routes on Saturday.
