At one time, they performed only in their temple. Now, the Duoc Su Lion dancers travel across the Pacific Northwest to share their traditional lion dance.
The group will perform at three North Olympic Library System locations. The first performance will be at 1 p.m. today at the Clallam Bay Library, 6990 state Highway 112.
Then, they will perform an evening dance at 6 today at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S Peabody St.
The Sequim Library will host the final performance at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
Several of the dance team members started with the Duoc Su Buddhist Youth Group. The team grew to perform at weddings, grand openings, parties and other community events.
The performances are part of the libraries’ 2017 Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World.”
The North Olympic Library System oversees public libraries in Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks and Clallam Bay.
