PORT TOWNSEND — Ling Hui Dance will present its 28th performance with shows at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m Saturday.
This year’s annual show, entitled “Intention,” will be in the auditorium at Port Townsend High School, 1500 Van Ness St.
Tickets are $21 per person, $15 for students at www.linghuisdance.com or $25 per person, $15 for students at the door.
The performance will open with Mozart’s “The Forgotten Time,” a piece that highlights classical ballet movements.
Following will be a troupe of 10 beginning contemporary dancers, dancing to the 1980s synth-pop band The Art of Noise.
Five intermediate and advanced ballet dancers will finish the first half of the show, dancing to “Glass Heart” by Phillip Glass.
After an intermission, the 2 p.m. show will feature three intermediate contemporary dancers performing to “Intention,” a song by District 78.
The 5 p.m. show will feature two advanced dancers, graduating seniors Anabel Moore and Margaret Emery, dancing to the same piece.
The junior ballet dancers will perform to “Waltz of the Flowers” and to music by French composer Jacques Ibert.
The show also will include “Shall We Dance,” featuring the beginning adult class, and “Mambo Tonight,” featuring the advanced contemporary dance students.
