Lefties season to end with a party

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Lefties and the Juan de Fuca Foundation have joined to throw an end-of-the-season Lefties outdoor celebration Saturday at Civic Field.

The day on the green will feature the internationally acclaimed circus band MarchFourth and a San Francisco favorite, The Sam Chase Band, organizers said.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. with The Sam Chase performance slated for 4 p.m. and MarchFourth planned for 6:30 p.m. at Civic Field, 307 S. Race St.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door — just $10 for children age 12 and younger.

Tickets are available at jffa.org/, Port Book and News, 104 E. First St.; or at the gate the day of the show.

Food and beverages will be available from the same menu available at Lefties games.

Attendees are welcome to sit in the stands or bring blankets and low-backed chairs and set up on the field in front of the stage.

Three years ago, MarchFourth performed at Port Angeles’ Juan de Fuca Festival.

MarchFourth is a genre-breaking force in the world of entertainment, organizers said, as it combines music, dance and circus acts.

“With exceptional musical quality and a visual kaleidoscope of stilt walkers, hoopers and Vaudeville-style dancers, MarchFourth whips audiences into a celebratory frenzy with an over-the-top spectacle of high-energy compositions, colorful costumes and irresistible charisma,” a news release said.

Hailing from the hills of San Francisco, Sam and his band, whom he refers to as The Untraditional, take to stages all over the country. In 2012, the band released a long-awaited first studio album, “The Sam Chase Will Lead Us To Victory,” which took the group all across the United States.

A second album was titled “The Sam Chase Will Never Die.”
