Land Trust Family Picnic dishes out food, fiction Sunday

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Land Trust will host its fourth annual free Land Trust Family Picnic from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 1454 S. Bagley Creek Road.

Dancing, s’mores, the Dukes of Dabob and Olympic Peninsula fiction will be among the afternoon’s attractions.

New Orleans music

Dixieland jazz band Dukes of Dabob will perform a slew of New Orleans-style toe-tapping dancing tunes for the occasion.

For 20 years, Dukes of Dabob have been performing Dixieland jazz to audiences from Port Angeles to Olympia.

The North Olympic Land Trust also will host local author Charlie Sheldon.

New book

Sheldon will read for his newly released book, “Strong Heart,” a fictional tale set in the heart of the North Olympic Peninsula.

A main dish will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish, dessert or beverage.

To RSVP, visit the North Olympic Land Trust’s events page, email alana@northolympiclandtrust.org or call 360-417-1815, ext. 3.
