Jenner Fox Jeremy Elliott concert set in Port Townsend

Duo are musical, bicycle touring friends

PORT TOWNSEND — Jenner Fox & Jeremy Elliott will perform at the Palindrome at Eaglemount Cidery at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The Rainshadow Recording concert will be at 7:30 p.m. at 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road.

Tickets are $20 each online at https://ticketstorm.com/e/27282/t/ or $25 at the door.

Fox tells the stories of people and places with poetry and fluency on his guitar, according to a press release.

He comes from a family of river guides in Palo Alto, Calif. He followed the family river trade and recorded his debut album to make some extra money selling CDs on the boat ramp after rafting trips, the press release said.

Five albums later, he is a Bainbridge Island resident who enjoys cargo bicycling and writes songs that “gather up what we see as common as crab apples and polish them into shiny orbs to give himself and let us see ourselves,” the Sheridan Press said.

Elliott lives in Bellingham but hails from Macon, Ga., and brings a wealth of blues, rock, bluegrass, country and West African elements into his guitar style, the release said.

Before working with Fox, Elliott toured with a Bellingham-based band called Polecat, Fox said.

The two have performed together for about five years, Fox said.

They collaborated on various touring and studio projects for years before formally assembling for an experimental cargo bicycle tour in 2020, according to the release.

They clicked, the release said.

“They shared a sensibility for deep listening, space, humor and 50-mile bike days,” the release said.

The two have done three bicycle tours, having just returned from a week-long tour in California, Fox said.

The series sponsor is Strait Floors.
