Jefferson County Farm Tour offers attractions this weekend

Inaugural Tour D’Farm bicycle ride also scheduled

PORT TOWNSEND — The 21st Jefferson County Farm Tour and inaugural Tour D’Farm bicycle ride will be this weekend.

The Farm Tour on Saturday and Sunday is self-guided both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fourteen farms, three gardens and four booths are on the tour.

Participating in Farm Tour is free, but there is a suggested $10 donation per car, which can be paid at the farms or the Farm Tour Central at the Chimacum Corner Farmstand at 9122 Rhody Drive.

The Chamber of Jefferson County is hosting the Tour D’Farm bicycle ride of the farms on the self-guided tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday only.

Registration is $20 and includes tour swag and refreshments at the check-in at the Port Townsend Visitor Information Center, 2409 Jefferson St. in Port Townsend. Registration can be done online at https://www.jeffcountychamber.org/events/details/tour-d-farm-bicycle-tour-2281 or at the check-in the day of the tour.

Those who visit five or more farms on the bike tour can be entered in a drawing for prizes.

Also during the weekend, Brigid’s Loft at 647 Washington St. in Port Townsend will offer live music and dancing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Admission will be a $10 suggested donation per person.

Places open both days for tours are Arabians at Egg and I, Bazaar Girls Yarn Shop, Center Valley Animal Rescue, Compass Rose Farms, Egg and I Pork, Gray Fox Farm, Kodama Farm, Lonely Pines Farm, Sailor Vineyard, Shy Acre Farm and Wilderbee Farm.

One farm, Soft Step Farm, will be open for tours only on Sunday.

Open only on Saturday will be Sunfield Biodynamic Farm and White Lotus Farm.

Booths will be operated by Jefferson Land Trust, Ananda Hills Farm, Space Twins Provisions and Jacobs’ Fleece Farm.

School gardens on the tour will be those at Salish Coast Elementary and at Port Townsend High School (Saturday only) and Chimacum Creek Primary (only Saturday).

In addition, Finnriver Farm & Cidery at 124 Center Road will offer both days its Cider Garden Taproom & Bottle Shop from noon to 9 p.m., specialities at Finnriver Kitchen from noon to 7:30 p.m., orchard tasting tours at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and live music from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the music is $5 for adults with youth admitted free.

On Saturday at Finnriver will be a Farmers & Makers Market from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday will be Make Art on the Farm from noon to 5 p.m. and Bouquet Bar, do-it-yourself flower arranging, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
