Jefferson County Fair schedule of events

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Fair begins today and runs through Sunday.

Here is a partial list of events:

Today

8 a.m. — Gates open for ticket sales

10 a.m. — Fair opens

11 a.m. — Abby Roth plays a set on the small stage

11:30 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 4 p.m. — Professor Bamboozle in Mac’s building

Noon — Stardust Big Band will play on the small stage

1:30 p.m. — Dukes of Dabob will play a set on the small stage

3 p.m. — Rabbit and poultry show in the small animal barn

3:30 p.m. — Port Townsend Summer Band at the small stage

5 p.m. — Silly games horse show at the horse arena

5 p.m. — Karen Quest cowgirl tricks on the wood stage

6 p.m. — Buck Ellard Band will play the small stage

6:30 p.m. — Duct tape activity in the yesteryear museum

8 p.m. — Fairgrounds to close for the evening

Saturday

8 a.m. — Gates open for ticket sales

10 a.m. — Fair opens

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. — Cats on display; vote for your favorite cat in 4-H cat building

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Ducky slide in the small animal barn

11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. — Kids mechanical bull riding at got bull area

12:30 p.m. — Olympic Express Big Band will play on the small stage

1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. — Horse show: gaming classes in the horse arena

2 p.m. — Port Townsend Ballet at the wood stage

3 p.m. — Taylor Montgomery will play a set at small stage

3 p.m. — Watermelon eating contest at the Ag department

3:30 p.m. — Draft horse pulls

5:30 p.m. — Lego contest at the yesteryear museum

7 p.m. — Cat knowledge bowl in the 4-H cat building

8 p.m. — Fairgrounds to close for the evening

Sunday

8 a.m. — Gates open for ticket sales

10 a.m. — Fair opens

11 a.m. — 4×4 mud-pit drag races at the main stage

11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Beef BBQ in the picnic area

Noon — Mars Garden will play a set on the small stage

Noon — Horse costume contest in the horse arena

12:30 p.m. — Best jam and jelly competition in the home arts department

1 p.m. — Japanese Taiko drumming at the wood stage

2 p.m. — Cat quiz bowl in the 4-H cat building

2:30 p.m. — Hippy and the Squids will play a set on the small stage

3 p.m. — Kids mechanical bull riding in the got bull area

3:30 p.m. — Free kids craft activity in the 4-H cat building

4 p.m. — Karen Quest’s cowgirl tricks at the wood stage

5 p.m. — Jean Lenke and Band will play at the small stage

6 p.m. — Jefferson County Fair concludes

All day, all weekend

Chicken bingo in the small animal barn

Weaving demonstrations in the home arts department

4-H presentations and 4-H in action in the 4-H building
