Improvised musical slated Thursday at Field Hall

PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College Drama will present “100% Totally Improvised Musical” at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The free improv performance will be in the Sunset Lounge at Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. and tables can be reserved for $40 at www.fieldhallevents.org/tickets.

The show will feature Mark Valentine, Shaina Lent, Marva Holmes, George DeLorey, Kailey Fuhs and Lara Starcevich, all members of Port Angeles’ Improv Without A Net Troup, along with standup comedian Steve Boutelle and musical performers Tara Dupont, Susan Cates and Andrew Woodson.

The audience can expect spontaneous song and storytelling that blends musical theater, comedy and improv.

“This is a show that only happens once. Literally,” said Lara Starcevich, the show’s creator, director and co-narrator. “Every performance is a new story, with new characters, based on what the audience gives us. It’s playful, unpredictable and so much fun — for us and for the crowd.”

“This is exactly the kind of joyful, collaborative work we’re proud to bring to the Sunset Lounge as part of our summer programming,” said Steven Raider-Ginsburg, executive and artistic director at Field Hall. “We’re highlighting local actors and musicians and creating immersive, original theater.”
