Home, kitchen tour tickets available now

Three-day tour includes alternate housing

PORT TOWNSEND — Tickets are available now for the virtual 24th annual Home & Kitchen Tour.

Passes for the general public are $30 for the tour, which will be available from April 29 to May 1. Registration is at https://pt-wa.aauw.net.

The Home & Kitchen Tour is organized annually by the Port Townsend branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the AAUW/University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County (UWF).

“Last year, the virtual tour was such a success that people from all over the country joined in,” the organization said on its website.

This year’s tour will explore homes, condos, an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) and boats, as well as offer interviews with homeowners and designers and seminars provided by local experts.

It also will include a workshop on how to build an ADU, a tour of a Habitat for Humanity home and information about housing services provided by such agencies as Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP).

During the three-day virtual tour, pass-holders can visit multiple times and navigate in a 3-D environment.

The fundraiser supports projects for equity for women and girls, including educational scholarships. The nonprofit also funds Tech Trek STEM summer camp, school tutoring projects, math/STEM and kindergarten literacy, and housing equity for women.

More information is available at the AAUW PT website and kitchentour@aauwpt.org.

Preceding the tour will be a live Community Build project meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elks Club, 555 Otto St. and broadcast by Zoom. The speaker will be Judy Alexander, AAUW 2021 Woman of Excellence. The Zoom meeting is at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82173054323#success.
