Hickory Shirt-Heritage Days continues today

FORKS — Hickory Shirt-Heritage Days will continue today at the Forks Timber Museum.

Because of COVID-19 safety measures, most of this year’s annual celebration of the West End’s logging history, which began on Wednesday, took place on the grounds of the museum at 1421 S. Forks Ave.

Spinning, knitting and sewing were demonstrated at the museum Saturday.

The museum will continue to be open for free through today. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Handmade items are offered for sale and visitors can purchase raffle tickets for an annual fundraiser.

The Forks Timber Museum offers a look into the history of homesteading, farming and logging in the Pacific Northwest, presented in a log cabin structure built by local volunteers and the High School Carpentry Class of 1989. The new director is former mayor Bryon Monohon.
