Halloween events are planned across the Peninsula this week.
Some celebrations include:
• Port Townsend’s Main Street program will host its 28th Downtown Trick or Treat and Costume Parade at 4 p.m. Thursday. Participants will assemble at 3:45 p.m. at 1st Security Bank Plaza, 734 Water St., and march down Water Street to Polk Street.
The parade, which is for costumed children in preschool through sixth grade, will be led by the Main Street Witches.
Following the parade, there will be trick-or-treating at participating downtown businesses.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Water Street and side streets from Madison to Polk streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for public safety.
• Port Angeles Church of Christ, 1233 E. Front St., Port Angeles, will host Trunk or Treat from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

• The Extended Care Unit at Forks Community Hospital, 530 Bogachiel Way, Forks, will host Halloween Trick or Treat from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are invited to come in costume with a pail or basket to collect candy and enjoy trick-or-treating with the Extended Care Family.
Trick-or-treaters should enter through the Extended Care entrance on Fifth Avenue.
“This is such a special event for our West End community, and it reminds us that, no matter what age or stage of life, we are all part of a bigger family and can create special memories together,” said Heidi Anderson, Forks Community Hospital’s executive director.
Community members who wish to donate wrapped candy for the festivities can drop off their donations at the hospital’s administration building, 550 Fifth Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

• The Extreme Sports Park, 2917 W. Edgewood Drive, Port Angeles, will host free trick-or-treating from 2 p.m. until dark Thursday.
There will be more than 25 booths, and Pizza Hut will sell pizza.
• The Port Angeles Waterfront District will sponsor Trick or Treat at participating downtown businesses from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
More than 50 Port Angeles business will participate.
The waterfront district will host games and a kids zone at the Gateway Transit Center at the corner of Front and Lincoln streets.
• Gateway Church of Sequim, 609 W. Washington St., Sequim, will host Trunk or Treat from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

• The North Olympic Library System will host a Día de los Muertos celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Forks Branch Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., Forks.
Families are invited to make crafts, share pan de muerto and celebrate Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
Attendees can participate in an interactive Storytime session and a crafting activity.
Chocolate Abuelita, hot chocolate, and pan de muerto, sweet bread, will be provided.
