Grange stories focus of History Tales on Sunday

PORT ANGELES — Longtime resident and grange member Robert “Bob” Clark will talk about the history of granges at the Clallam County Historical Society’s History Tales.

The presentation will take place Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the social hall of First United Methodist Church, 110 E. Seventh St.

Clark received the title of State Grange Leader of the Year in 2014 after holding numerous positions within the grange including the 13th State Master for the Washington State Grange from 1989 to 1995.

Established in 1889, the Washington State Grange is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Washington’s residents through the spirit of community service and legislative action.

Clark is known to many as the former Clallam County treasurer, a position he held from 1958 to 1989. He was the Grand Pioneer of the Sequim Irrigation Festival in 2008 and operates a bed-and-breakfast in Sequim.

History Tales is free and open to the public.

For more information, call the Clallam County Historical Society’s office at 360-452-2662 or email artifact@olypen.com.
