Girls’ Night Out celebrates the ’60s

Thursday is set for late shopping, party

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend’s 18th Annual Girls’ Night Out will offer “girlfriend fun with a 1960 flair” on Thursday, said Mari Mullen, executive director of Port Townsend Main Street Program.

This year’s theme is “You Go Go Girl!” with artwork reflecting the 1960’s flower power theme.

“Wear your bell bottoms and love beads to the event,” Mullen said.

Thirty-eight Port Townsend businesses will host special events and in-store promotions from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Goodie bags will be on sale for $25 each starting at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Port Townsend Vineyards, 725 Water St., while supplies last.

The evening will end with a Wrap Party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vintage at Port Townsend Vineyards.

It will feature a photo booth, door prizes and raffle prizes. Raffle prizes will include certificates ranging from a hotel stay to hand-made candles, gifts and accessories with multiple baskets valued at hundreds of dollars each.

Raffle tickets, $10 each, will be sold at Vintage by Port Townsend Vineyards downtown on Thursday.

Goodie bags will feature socks, scarves and accessories.

The socks are donated by The Clothes Horse, About Time and Expressions Apparel. Other donors include Jefferson Healthcare, New American Funding, Tickled Pink Retail, 1851, World’s End, Summer House Design, Richmond American Homes, 1st Security Bank, Don’s Pharmacy, The Spice and Tea Exchange, The Perfect Season, District Fabrics, Abracadabra, PT Shirt Co., The Chandlery by Naughty Faery Creations, PT Picnics, 821 Washington, The Washington Private Suites and Quimper Mercantile.

Inside will be a coupon book.

Proceeds from Girls’ Night Out goodie bags sales benefit the Port Townsend Main Street Program, a 501c3 nonprofit, and the Jefferson Healthcare Foundation to help provide breast and cervical cancer screenings, care and treatment for low income Jefferson County residents.

The event is sponsored by Jefferson Healthcare, 1st Security Bank, New American Funding, Richmond American Homes, Coldwell Banker Best Homes, the Port Townsend & Jefferson County Leader and participating businesses.

It is presented by the Port Townsend Main Street Program Promotion Committee.
