Ghostlight Productions to stage ‘Sweeney Todd’ in Sequim

SEQUIM — Ghostlight Productions will present “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” with shows at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 9.

The production will be onstage in the auditorium at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.

Tickets range from $10 to $20 per person at www.ghostlightwa.org.

The musical, written by Stephen Sondheim, tells the story of Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, who returns to 19th century London to get revenge on the judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife.

“Producing Sweeney Todd has been a longtime dream of mine, and I am so excited to share this spooky, hilarious and beautiful tale with all of you,” director Mark Lorentzen said. “And what better time to present this chilling musical masterpiece than the Halloween season. Join us for thrills, chills and spills with an insanely talented local cast and Stephen Sondheim’s unforgettable score.”
