Fun Days celebrates Clallam Bay, Sekiu

CLALLAM BAY-SEKIU — Fireworks will punctuate three days of celebration during the Clallam Bay Sekiu Fun Days.

Fireworks will be at dusk Saturday — the second day of the celebration — near the Breakwater Restaurant.

The community festival will include Music in the Park at Clallam Bay Spit Park, Clallam Bay, beginning at noon Saturday.

The lineup is: noon, Loose Gravel performing local bluegrass; 1:30 p.m., Eric Lawton performing Northwest country music; 4 p.m., Super Sport performing classic rock; 6 p.m., The Kara Hesse Band (headliner).

Here is the schedule for the three-day celebration:

Today

• All day — Amateur photo contest viewing.

• 4 p.m. — Deadline for Photo Contest entry submissions, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.

• Evening — Friends of the Library Local Historic Photo Sale, Bus Barn, Clallam Bay.

• 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Messy Palettes Art Show, Sekiu Community Center downstairs, Sekiu.

• 6 p.m. — Festival Potluck Social (Organizer Bizarre Crafters) Bus Garage, Clallam Bay.

• 8 p.m. — Live music; West Coast All Stars, Clallam Bay Inn, Clallam Bay.

Saturday

• 8:30 a.m. — Poker Ride Race Sign up, school parking lot, Clallam Bay.

• 9 a.m. — Poker Ride Race, (Organizer; Dixie Simpson and crew).

• 10 a.m. — Lion’s Club Bar B’ Que, Gary’s Pay & Save Parking Lot, Clallam Bay.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Photo Contest Public Viewing and Judging, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.

• Daytime — Friends of the Library Local Historic Photo Sale, Bus Barn, Clallam Bay.

• Leading off the Grand Parade — Kids Parade, (Organizer, Jamye Wisecup), Clallam Bay.

• 11 a.m. — Grand Parade, Weel Road to Bogachiel Street, Clallam Bay.

• After parade — Kids’ games, hill above the bus barn, Clallam Bay; Breakwater Restaurant fireworks auction, Bus Garage, Clallam Bay.

• After parade to 6 p.m. — Messy Palettes Art Show, Sekiu Community Center downstairs, Sekiu.

• Noon — Open House at Presbyterian Church, Eighth Street, Clallam Bay.

• Noon until after 6 p.m. — Music in the Park, Clallam Bay Spit Park, Clallam Bay.

• Dusk — The Breakwater Restaurant Fireworks – Off of Olson’s (Mason family owned) Breakwater. Fireworks in memory of Jim Ward.

Sunday

• 9 a.m. — Fun Run registration, Sekiu.

• 10 a.m. — Fun Run (Organizer – Ahrens Family) Sekiu to Clallam Bay.

• 2 p.m. — Photo Contest Awards, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, Clallam Bay.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Messy Palettes Art Show, Sekiu Community Center, downstairs, Sekiu.
