Free variety show returns to Sequim Prairie Grange

SEQUIM — Your Community Variety Show, which was moved from its regular date in May due to a scheduling conflict, will return to the third Tuesday of the month in June.

The free June 19 variety show will kick off with a set by Round Trip, the dance band that brings 55 years of rock ’n’ roll, country and oldies around again at 6:30 p.m. at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road.

Among the other musical acts will be Nightingale (Donna Rankin and Mary Clock) and the Old Sidekicks with the Side Chick. Five musical acts, two non-musical acts, a specialty act and a surprise appearance are planned.

“We did everything we could to publicize the temporary change,” said host Michael Bunnell.

“Now we’re doing all we can to let everyone know that we’re back on schedule.”

The monthly two-hour program of live entertainment showcases the talents of local amateur and professional performers. It also gives talented new performers of any age a chance to appear onstage, often for the first time.

Bunnell says, “Our audience is like a huge family, so this is good way for first-timers to move beyond performing for a few friends in their own living room.”

Your Community Variety Show is produced by Skookum Bay Productions, a subsidiary of Skookum Bay Publishing, in conjunction with Joyful Noise Music Center.

The two Sequim-area businesses present the program at no charge as a gift to the community.

Information about attending or performing at the show is available by emailing sbayprod@olypen.com or by calling 360-681-2686.
