Free outdoor concerts offered on Peninsula

Free outdoor concerts are winding down as the summer fades into fall on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Port Townsend Main Street Program’s Concerts on the Dock will offer its final concert of the season on Thursday with Kevin Mason and the PT All-Stars performing with special guest Christa Holbrook a blend of rock, soul, Motown and rhythm and blues.

Joy in Mudville will perform Americana/roots and rock at the city of Sequim’s Concerts in the Park at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the James Center for the Performing Arts at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

The Talbott Bros. will play rock and blues storytelling at the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 6 p.m. Wednesday summer outdoor Concerts on the Pier.

Admission is free to all concerts.

Sequim

One more concert is planned after next week’s at the City of Sequim’s Concerts in the Park.

Ranger and the Re-Arrangers will offer swing and gypsy jazz on Sept. 3.

The concert was originally set for July 2 but was canceled due to poor weather.

Attendees are urged to bring portable lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Coyote BBQ’s pulled pork and other food will be available.

Port Angeles

The Port Angeles summer concert series will continue through Sept. 11 every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. during the Concerts on the Pier at Railroad Avenue and Lincoln Street.

Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs.

If heavy wind or bad weather is expected, the performances might be moved to The Gateway pavilion at the corner of Lincoln and Front streets.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the season:

• Sept. 4 — Black Diamond Junction; classic hits.

• Sept. 11 — Champagne Sunday; rock.

Port Townsend

Seating will open at 4:30 p.m. and music will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during Port Townsend’s final Concerts on the Dock at Pope Marine Park Plaza, on Water Street between Madison and Monroe streets..

Attendees should bring chairs or blankets.

In the event of rain, concerts will be moved to the Cotton Building, 607 Water St.

Local vendors include Mo Chilli BBQ, Barbarian Fine Cuisine, Aldrich’s Market, Java Gypsies, BluJay Kombucha, Olympic Neighbors, Magical Henna and James Jackson Massage. Beer from Port Townsend Brewing Co., wine from Port Townsend Vineyards and a rotating cider from Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Eaglemount Cider or Alpenfire Cider also will be available.
