Free outdoor concerts in Sequim, PA, PT this week

There are plenty of free musical performances this week set for towns on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend have a summer-long slate of concerts scheduled.

The city of Sequim’s Concerts in the Park performance begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the James Center for the Performing Arts at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce will host Concerts on the Pier at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the City Pier.

Port Townsend Main Street Program’s Concerts on the Dock will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Pope Marine Park Plaza, Water and Madison streets.

Sequim

Admission is free and open to the public.

Attendees are urged to bring portable lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Tuesday’s concert will feature John Hoover and the Mighty Quinns with the music of John Denver.

Port Angeles

Admission is free and open to the public.

Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to these informal, family-friendly performances.

If heavy wind or bad weather is expected, the performances might be moved to The Gateway pavilion at the corner of Lincoln and Front streets.

Wednesday’s concert will feature Crushwater with indie and rock music.

Port Townsend

Seating will open at 4:30 p.m. and music will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets and settle in to listen, dance, see friends, enjoy a drink and have a bite.

In the event of rain, concerts will be moved to the Cotton Building, 607 Water St.

Local vendors and beer garden serving Port Townsend Brewing Co., Port Townsend Vineyards and local ciders (Eaglemount, Alpenfire or Finnriver) will contribute to the festival atmosphere.

Thursday’s concert will feature Jim Nyby and the F Street Band.

The F Street Band formed in 2005 and primarily plays New Orleans-based blues and early rock n’ roll tunes.
