Free entry to national, state parks Saturday

Saturday has been designated as a fee-free day for Olympic National Park and all state parks as part of the Bureau of Land Management’s 26th annual National Public Lands Day.

On fee-free days, site-specific standard amenity and day-use fees are waived. Other fees, such as overnight camping, cabin rentals, group day use and use of special areas, remain in effect.

No Discover Pass

At Washington State Parks, no Discover Pass will be required for day-use visits by vehicle. North Olympic Peninsula state parks are Bogachiel near Forks, Dosewallips near Brinnon, Fort Flagler on Marrowstone Island, Fort Townsend and Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Anderson Lake State Park near Chimacum and Sequim Bay near Sequim.

‘Tradition’

“National Public Lands Day is a time-honored tradition where we come together as a national community to celebrate and care for these lands that are entrusted to all of us,” said BLM Deputy Director for Policy and Programs William Perry Pendley.

Open for everyone

“The BLM invites everyone to spend this special day enjoying the great outdoors and visiting their public lands.”
