PORT ANGELES — The digital fractals of Pamela Dick will be featured at the Landing Artists Studio during Port Angeles’ Second Saturday Art Walk from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The public is invited to the Landing Artists Studio at The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., to see samples of the work Dick, owner of the studio, has exhibited for the past six years.
Light refreshments will be served.
Dick is known locally and throughout the West Coast for her colorful and award-winning fractal designs which hang in businesses and homes around the world.
Fractals are repeating patterns found in nature. The images are created on a computer using mathematical algorithms. Up to 18 algorithms are layered on top of each other to create shapes never seen before.
In addition to images on metal, she carries canvas, prints and greeting cards suitable for framing.
Also on tap this Saturday are:
• Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel St., will feature the work of Tammy Hall during the month of October and the public will have the opportunity to meet her from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Harbor Art Gallery is a collective of 22 area artists.
Hall has always been driven to do art, even when she didn’t have formal art supplies, organizers said.
As a child she used water from the garden hose and often mixed a nice bunch of mud which was heavy in clay content, sculpting dishes and the food to go on them so she could play house.
As she grew up, she taught herself to use other media — pen and ink, scratchboard, acrylics, oils, collage and found object assemblages which include driftwood animal sculptures.
While Hall is most known for her intricate driftwood sculptures, she creates art using a variety of media.

• Studio Bob, upstairs at 118½ E. Front St., will exhibit “Lucid Interiors,” the work of artists Macro Zand and Dwayne Northup.
Opening night and artist reception will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. A no-host bar will serve beer and wine in The Loom next door to the studio.
Those unable to attend Saturday’s opening, can see the work between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday and the show will be up during the month of October.

Zand has traveled extensively on this planet and within his mind, he said, and has concluded that people are all basically the same, with a need for love, community and some approach of spiritual understanding.
Trained as a writer, but a born adventurer, Zand also has explored the arts: including macro photography, bronze casting, silkscreen painting, airbrushing and painting.
Northup is a self-taught rawhide sculptor, furniture painter, lamp maker and acrylic painter.
He enjoys creating abstract art for interior spaces and images of the Buddha, organizers said.
• One of a Kind Art Gallery in The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave. will feature the works of its artists of the month, Bruce Fryxell and Neil Smith, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The gallery invites the public to stop in and meet the artists and have a complimentary beverage and appetizers.
There also will be live music.

Kicking off the weekend tonight is the 2nd Friday Art Walk at Bar N9ne.
• 2nd Friday Art Rock (2FAR) at Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St., will mix the dark Celtic music of Scrios with the bold colors of Mike Pace and Jeff Toucher, also known as Barky and The Dude.
The show will begin at 9 tonight. A $3 cover charge will help support the musicians and artist.
Scrios’ music is “perfectly paired with our local descent into winter,” organizers said in a news release.
Featuring musicians of all ages who have gained fame through other projects as wide-ranging as Rogues’ End and the Port Angeles Symphony, Scrios is going to get eclectic as they blend Celtic/tribal with rock influence.
Barky and The Dude have become masters of live painting in Port Angeles, organizers said, having performed at the Juan de Fuca Festival and other local venues.
“They will be filling your mind and their canvases with bold colors as the music plays into the night,” organizers said.
