FORKS — The second weekend of RainFest will feature the Undersea and Umbrella Parade and an evening of nature films during the fourth annual River & Ocean Film Festival.
Today from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. will be the Welcome to the Washington Coast Cleanup, which is planned for Saturday. Cleanup volunteers and others can meet in the Native to Twilight parking lot at 10 S. Forks Ave. for selfies with Redd and Fin the Chum Salmon, a giant sculpture.
The opportunity will be repeated from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, when most activities are planned.
Preparation for Saturday’s noon Undersea and Umbrella Parade will begin at 9 a.m. with umbrella decorating hosted by the West Olympic Council of the Arts at the Integrated Community Networking Building (ICN) at 71 N. Spartan Ave.
Undersea theme
The theme is undersea creatures, and creature costumes will be welcome at the noon parade, which will run from the ICN building down Spartan Avenue to Native to Twilight, where treats will be offered in the parking lot.
At 7 p.m., the lights will go down at the Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave., for the River & Ocean Film Festival.
The festival, held in conjunction with RainFest and the Washington Coast Cleanup, offers films of the region’s rivers and oceans, as well as highlights some of the issues faced by marine and freshwater habitats.
This year’s films include “Salmon in Taft Creek,” “Not Just Chemistry,” “Awesome Ocean,” “SHARE: The White Salmon River,” “Rockfish Recompression: The Music Video,” “The Coho Are Coming” and “Clean Water Classic 2016,” among others.
The River & Ocean Film Festival is sponsored by the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee, the city of Forks, Washington Sea Grant, North Pacific Coast Lead Entity, Rainforest Council for the Arts, Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition, West Olympic Council for the Arts and Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.

• Morning — Washington Coast Cleanup sponsored by CoastSavers. Register online at www.coastsavers.org.
• 9 a.m. to noon — Umbrella decorating hosted by West Olympic Council of the Arts; ICN Building. Enter from the parking lot in the back.
• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Forks Open Aire Market; Umpqua Bank.
• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Early season opening of John’s Beachcombing Museum, 143 Andersonville Ave., Forks. Entry is $5 per person, $4 for veterans and seniors, $2 for children ages 12-21 and free for those younger than 12.
• Noon to 1 p.m. — Undersea and Umbrella Parade.
• 1 p.m. — Children’s book giveaway hosted by the Clallam County Literacy Council; Native to Twilight parking lot.
• 1 p.m. — Undersea Chalk Art Extravaganza; sidewalks near the Native to Twilight parking lot and Rainforest Arts Center.
• 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Welcome Washington Coast Cleanup; Native to Twilight parking lot.
• 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Musical performance by What the Tide Washed In trio; Native to Twilight parking lot.
• 6 p.m. — Doors open for natural resources booths and displays; Rainforest Arts Center.
• 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. — River & Ocean Film Festival, with a bake sale to benefit CoastSavers; Rainforest Arts Center.
