Folk rocker Peter Mulvey, guest to perform in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — Folk-rock singer-songwriter Peter Mulvey and special guest Danielle Ate the Sandwich will perform at Rainshadow Recording Studio on Thursday night.

Doors open to Building 315 in Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way, at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $15. They can be purchased at peteranddanielle.brown papertickets.com.

Mulvey released “Are You Listening?” in February on Kickstarter and in March with Righteous Babe Records. It is Mulvey’s 17th and latest album, marking the 25th anniversary of his career.

In 25 years, Mulvey has played 4,000 concerts and traveled more than a million miles for musicmaking, according to a news release.

Of those, he has played numerous benefit concerts for such organizations as the American Civil Liberties Union, Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Relief International and Public Allies.

He will be joined by Danielle Ate the Sandwich, or pop-folk songwriter Danielle Anderson, for Thursday’s show.

Based in Fort Collins, Colo., Anderson has been touring nationally since 2009 after cultivating an online following on YouTube. She dubs her loyal listeners “fanwiches.”

In September 2016, Danielle Ate the Sandwich released her sixth full-length album, “The Terrible Dinner Guest,” recorded in Norfolk, Va., and supported by a fan-funded Kickstarter campaign.

She also wrote the soundtrack for the Emmy-nominated HBO documentary “Packed in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson.”
