Fish N Brew event slated for Saturday

LA PUSH — The Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition will host the Fish N Brew event on Saturday.

The event, at the Kit’la Roundhouse at U.S. Highway 101 and La Push Road junction, will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will celebrate community, creativity and conservation and support the nonprofit’s efforts to restore salmon habitats along the Olympic Peninsula.

A highlight will be a friendly competition of homemade fish dishes paired with home-brewed beers, ciders and seltzers. Local cooks and brewers will showcase their best creations, offering attendees a chance to sample and vote for their favorites.

A beer garden will feature brews from across the Olympic Peninsula. Non-alcoholic beverages also will be available.

Fish N Brew also will feature a live auction to raise funds for PCSC’s ongoing salmon habitat restoration projects. Auction items include a mix of local art, handcrafted goods and guided fishing trips, all donated by community members and local businesses.

Attendees will have a chance to bid on these items and more in both a live auction that begins at 5 p.m. and a silent auction that runs throughout the evening.

The Salty Heifer food truck will be on site, and Oberfranc’s Home Bakery will offer its baked goods. Local artists and craftmakers will round out the marketplace, offering unique, handmade items for purchase.

Live music will be provided by the Richwine Road Band.

The event is open to all ages, with activities and offerings to engage the whole family.

Proceeds will go to the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition’s mission to enhance salmon and steelhead habitats across the Peninsula. The funds raised will help continue restoration projects that benefit both local fish populations and the ecosystem.
