First Friday Art Walk set this week

SEQUIM — The First Friday Art Walk will celebrate with a white-themed event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at various venues in downtown Sequim.

Special events in June include:

• The Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery, at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 West Cedar St., which will open the juried exhibit, “Over The Rainbow,” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The reception will include light refreshments and musical entertainment by the Olympic Brass Quintet.

This exhibit, which will feature 13 pieces created by 11 local artists, will be on display through Aug. 18.

• The Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., will host a reception to celebrate its 28th anniversary from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The gallery will exhibit “28 on the Strait,” a collection of works fashioned from the area, throughout June.

• The A. Milligan Art Studio and Gallery, 520 N. Sequim Ave., will present the Pacific Northwest Impressions Exhibit featuring the works of Len Zeoli, Michelle Lindblom and Linda Tilley.

Zeoli is a sculptor who works in wood, Lindblom creates acrylic paintings and monotypes, and Tilley paints with oil.

Visitors also can look into Milligan’s personal studio to see the pastels she has in progress.

• Sequim Museum and Arts, 544 N. Sequim Ave., will feature “Land, Sea, and Sky: Nature in Clay” in its Judith McInnes Tozzer Art Gallery.

The exhibit will showcase Beth Garrison’s functional pottery in white stoneware.

Garrison creates both wheel-thrown and slab-built pottery that she decorates with colored slips and underglazes, using techniques such as carving, incising and inlaying.

• Olympic Peninsula YMCA, 610 N. Fifth Ave., will host an exhibit of paintings, photographs and 3-dimensional art created by YMCA members and staff.

• The River House Bakery and Cafe, 120 W. Bell St., will display the nature and landscape photography of Kelli Ward, of KW Photography, along with music by Deadwood Revival.

• Alder Wood Bistro, 139 W. Alder St., will have artisan wood-fired local, seasonal, organic food and artwork from community artists.

• Pacific Mist Books, 122 W. Washington St., will offer an eclectic mix of new and vintage books, cards and gifts, including local authors and artists.

• La Petite Maison Blanche, 213 E. Washington St., will feature uniquely curated gifts and festive treats throughout the shop.

• Over the Fence, 118 E. Washington St., will showcase local makers.

• Rainshadow Cafe, 157 W. Cedar St., will host live music by Dawn and Steve from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• The Habitat Boutique Store, 213 E. Washington St., will have live music by Reckless Dove from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• Sequim Spice and Tea, 139 W. Washington St., will have unique art, including glass, pottery, illustration and local artists’ photography. Participants also will be able to find creative tea blends, colorful teapots and cups and culinary gifts.

• Soup in the Alley, 138 W. Washington St., will feature a rotation of local artists, live music and treats.

• The Cedarbrook Lavender Gift Shop, 120 W. Washington St., will have farm-fresh lavender creations, treats and vintage décor items.

• Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., will serve crafted wines and appetizing tidbits.

• Western Wanderer, 108 W. Washington St. will host live music, decorative, storytelling apparel and creative conversations.

• Pacific Pantry, 229 S. Sequim Ave., will be open until 7 p.m. with a rotation of local artists.

• Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasures, 121 W. Washington St., will feature local and regional gifts and treats.
