Finnriver to host Chimacum celebration Saturday

CHIMACUM — The eighth annual Chimacum Inter-Dependence Day will take place Saturday at Finnriver Orchard.

Started years ago by Chimacum Corner Farmstand, Inter-Dependence Day is a family- and fun-filled day of music, dancing, a talent show and film to celebrate the community at Finnriver Orchard, 124 Center Road.

Finnriver keeps the music events free and open to the public.

To support the live music program, Finnriver raises draft pours by $1 during music events. All funds are used to pay musicians.

Organizers are also collecting a suggestion donation at the door of $5 per family for the non-profit Community Wellness Project.

They ask that there be no smoking, no outside food or alcohol and no dogs.

The day’s activities include:

• Cider tasting and orchard tours

• Face painting and hula hooping

• Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and fire trucks

• Prosper Natural Health will be offer chair massages from noon to 6 p.m. for $1 a minute with a minimum of 10 minutes.
