PORT ANGELES – Field Arts & Events Hall announces the “Community Days” weekend, a free weekend of performances from local artists inside the new Donna M. Morris Theater.
Community Days is a free public event taking place at Field Hall on July 22-23, one week before the facility’s grand opening celebration. No tickets or reservations are required.
Divided into an “Amplified” Saturday lineup and an “Unplugged” Sunday lineup, Community Days offers a diverse range of performances to suit every taste, Steve Raider-Ginsburg, executive director, said in a press release.

On Saturday, July 22, guests will include Black Diamond Junction, AntBath, Olympic Express Big Band, Hermit Mabon, Ross Hamilton Photography, Scott Sullivan, Key City Ramblers, Steve W. Young, Three Too Many and Bread & Gravy.
The lineup on Sunday, July 23 will feature Cort Armstrong, Studio 360 performing “Peter and the Wolf,” Sequim Community Orchestra, Juan de Fuca Festival of Arts with PA Panto presenting Creative Arts Camp, Peninsula Queer Xhoir, Cherrywood, Bread & Gravy, Sylvia Joyce Wanner School and Sequim City Band.
“The intention of this weekend is to open the house and invite our community inside to explore and enjoy,” said Kayla Oakes, director of education & artistic engagement at Field Hall.
“We are thrilled to showcase our local performing artists and offer a variety of programming options,” Oakes said.
“Community Days is a celebration of our collective accomplishments in bringing this beautiful new arts venue to life, and what that will mean for our artists and audiences.:
Oakes said the free weekend also “serves as a platform to build excitement for our Grand Opening, which is just around the corner, and all of the incredible shows soon to be announced.”
Community Days is made possible through presenting sponsorship from North Olympic Healthcare Network (NOHN).
“We are pleased and excited to support this landmark event,” said Dr. Michael Maxwell, CEO at NOHN.
“It will provide an opportunity for the entire community to get its first look at the stunning facility and sample local talent at no cost in advance of the Grand Opening.”
Maxwell said the weekend “exemplifies Field Arts & Events Hall’s community-oriented mission, commitment to being inclusive, and its focus on making the arts accessible to everyone.”

Tickets are currently on sale for other pre-opening events including the “Love & Water” Benefit Concert featuring Carnegie Hall celebrated pianist Katya Grineva on Sunday as well as Grand Opening events July 29-30.
