PORT ANGELES – Field Arts & Events Hall will present Ruth Moody Band and Sammy Miller & The Congregation on Oct. 6-7 in collaboration with the 22nd Annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival on Oct. 6-8.
This year’s CrabFest will be in the Red Lion parking lot, The Gateway pavilion and City Pier at Lincoln Street and Railroad Avenue in Port Angeles.
The concerts will be “the first of many years of collaboration,” said Scott Nagel, executive director of CrabFest, who praised both Ruth Moody, who is well known in Canada, and Sammy Miller & The Congregation as energetic additions to the festival.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, Ruth Moody of The Wailin’ Jennys will perform folk, bluegrass, and gospel originals. On Saturday, Oct. 7, Field Hall will offer two opportunities — at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. — to see Sammy Miller & The Congregation, which will provide different shows.
A two-time Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Canada, Moody is a founding member of The Wailin’ Jennys. She has released two solo albums: “The Garden” (2010) and “These Wilder Things” (2013).
Joining her are Adrian Dolan on fiddle, mandolin, viola, mandola and vocals; Adam Dobres on guitars, ukulele and vocals; and Sam Howard on upright bass and vocals.
Sammy Miller & The Congregation will offer two concerts at Field Hall during CrabFest.
At 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7, they will perform a tribute to the music of 1973, commemorating 50 years since with fresh takes on the top hits the era. At 8:30 p.m. that evening, they will bring their danceable New Orleans Jazz Bar jams to Port Angeles to cap off a night out on the town.
“These multi-talented musicians promise to provide the perfect soundtrack to a CrabFest experience,” organizers said.
Field Hall will be open for extended public hours from noon to 11 p.m. each day Oct. 6-7, with the Field Hall cafe, art gallery, box office and lobby opening to the public at noon. The Sunset Bar & Lounge will offer Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the Lounge and Bar will remain open to the public until 11 p.m. both days.
