PORT ANGELES — Field Arts & Events Hall’s grand opening July 29-30 will feature an array of performers, according to a lineup announced by Steve Raider-Ginsburg, executive director.
The estimated $50 million facility at 209 N. Oak St. in Port Angeles is expected to be completed before the grand opening.
Tickets for the weekend became available for public purchase Friday. Founders Circle donors will receive early ticket access and special event invitations via email. Details on tickets can be found on the Field Hall website at www.field hallevents.org or by calling 360-477-4679.
The weekend will begin with a special performance by Diane Schuur, multi-Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist and pianist who is kicking off her 70th birthday tour, Raider-Ginsburg said.
Founders Circle donors who have contributed their support to the Field Hall capital campaign are invited to an extended performance by Schuur on July 28.
The next day — Saturday, July 29 — she will return to the stage with a 4 p.m. matinee performance open to the public.
Ranky Tanky, a Grammy Award-winning quintet known for Gullah music, will take the stage at 8 p.m. July 29.
Also on July 29, BANDALOOP, a pioneering vertical dance company, will perform an original piece of choreography on the walls of the exterior of the Field Arts & Events Hall.
“This inspiring display against the backdrop of the venue will showcase the innovative spirit of the art,” Raider-Ginsburg said.
BANDALOOP will offer three free public performances at noon, 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
On July 30, Field Hall will host Unit Souzou, an ensemble that combines the power of taiko drumming with Japanese folk dance. Unit Souzou will offer two performances at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Field Hall’s grand opening celebration is presented by 7 Cedars and Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.

In addition, the first art show to be on view in the new facility, “Creations of the Klallam People,” will be on display from July 27 through Sept. 29 and will be a feature of Field Hall’s grand opening weekend July 27-30.
